ASAP Podcast: Strength Training for Baseball with Matt Krause Cincinnati Reds

Strong_mrred_final_2 One of the main reasons that the ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power program is sought out by top professional, collegiate and high school athletes is because of our vast connection to many of the most brilliant strength, conditioning and speed coaches in the USA.  Our ASAP Advisory Board consists of many of the top professionals in the field. At ASAP, we train our athletes using many of the same training protocol as used in major colleges and the pro's.

Oie_matt_krause_pic_2 Today, we call on the expertise of Matt Krause. He's the Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Cincinnati Reds. Matt knows the special needs of the baseball player and that there is a fine line to training the player properly and training him to the point of over training. When you work with multi-million dollar athletes, future Hall of Famers and Major League Baseball All-Stars, there's no room for error.

Oie_asap_logggooo_463_3 Join us today for an information-packed podcast on training for baseball players.... useful for players at any level.  We'll be featuring Matt Krause in future podcasts and videos so that we can provide leading information for baseball athletes everywhere.

Just click on the ASAP PODCAST Logo to listen.  Coach Krause is also in tune with proper sports nutrition and suggests that athletes consume the right mix of proteins and carbohydrates following a workout.... so he suggests a new product that is on the market called "X-Milk". Give it a try. It's recently been made available at Biggs Grocery Stores:

    X_milk

Click on the X-Milk Logo for more information on this new product.

Besides a real good taste, one of the great features of this product is that it comes in aseptic packaging which gives it a great shelf life. Athletes can take it on the road with them and need not worry about spoilage.

ASAP Podcast and Video with Joe Kenn; University of Louisville

Oie_louisville_cardinals_260_2 Long before breakfast is being served across town at the nationally acclaimed Lynn's Paradise Cafe, the Louisville Cardinal football team makes their way through the dark of the summer morning into the Trager Center for an earlybird conditioning workout. And ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power is there to witness it with The University of Louisville's Director of Athlete Development, Joe Kenn. Joe has an impressive resume which includes stops at Boise State University, the University of Utah and Arizona State University. Coach Kenn is well known throughout the collegiate strength training realm and likes to bring innovation to the field.  In fact, presently Joe  Kenn is  consistently placing his athletes into a good "athletic position" in all facets of the training program there. For it was evident both at the Trager center workout as well as at the weight training center within the Howard Schnellenberger Football Complex, that this technique was constantly being coached.

We witnessed an excellent, well coached training day. Coach Kenn, with his assistants Bryan Dermody, Adam Fight and Joe Connally will definitely have their squad in peak condition for the August 31st home opener versus their in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats.

Just click on the official ASAP PODCAST logo for the in-depth interview with UofL's Joe Kenn. Also, be sure to check out the ASAP Photo Album for pictures of the training center and of the Johnny Unitas Football Museum.

Oakland Raiders' Ricky Brown Continues ASAP Off Season Regimen/ Podcast

    Raiders_logo_6

If you'd like to spend a day in Ricky Brown's shoes...you'd better be in a hurry. He does things fast.... very fast.  Of course, keep in mind, this guy was a track and football star back at Cincinnati Elder High School and it was running times like these that got people to notice:

    • 11.1 in the 100 meter dash
    • 22."something" in the 200 meter
    • 50.6 in the 400m

Oie_brown_action1_2 With that kind of speed and football talent to match it, it was on to Boston College to excel as a starting linebacker with some good friends of his, Nick Larkin (Cincinnati St. X) and Tom Anevski (Elder).... all three, by the way, trained extensively at ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power. And after all the games and bowl appearances ended, it was on to the National Football League. In fact, he's embarking on his third season with the Oakland Raiders. So when he's back in his hometown, don't be surprised to see him working out at ASAP @ The River's Edge. The facilities there include strength training equipment, CORE Training devices, indoor Field Turf athletic fields and, of course the watchful eye of Coach Ted Lambrinides.
In today's podcast, Ricky talks about training camp in Napa Valley, his current workout regimen and some info on his nutrition program where "breakfast is the most important meal of my day". Just click on Ricky's game photo above for the 10 minute interview.

    Brose_baskets

When Chris Ensminger is not working his 6'10" frame towards the basket as a professional player in the EuroLeague, he's usually back home in Cincinnati...or in training at The Workout @ Covington, just across the Ohio River in Kentucky.  ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power has just what "der Grosseman" needs to keep his body in optimal shape for the rigors of pro sports.  In fact, ASAP Director Ted Lambrinides added cambered squat bars to the training regimens at both the facility in Covington and the new facility in Cleves, Ohio (Cincinnati's westside) ASAP @ The River's Edge. The bar has allowed Chris to work the all-important squat exercise to a much increased range of motion.

Oie_asap_logggooo_463_2 Hear all about it in today's ASAP Strength Training Podcast. Just click on the official ASAP PODCAST Logo.

    Chris talks about:

Oie_michigan_logo_6 The ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power hub is located in Buckeye Country...that is Cincinnati, Ohio.  Our training centers are located on Cincinnati's west side: ASAP @ The River's Edge, just across the Ohio River in Covington, Kentucky: The Workout @ Covington, and an adult personal training center: The Workout @ Adam's Landing in downtown Cincy. So, it was a little difficult for us to head up to, as Woody Hayes called it, "the School Up North".... The University of Michigan. But we did.

    Dsc_0558

Coach Barwis had over 155 coaches in attendance at the MICHIGAN Strength & Conditioning Clinic

The Michigan Wolverines football program has a new direction and is lead by Head Coach Rich Rodriguez as he arrived on the scene just a little after January 1st.  Coach Rodriguez brought his staff, which was with him at the West Virginia Mountaineers program, and that included the strength and conditioning staff, too.
Well, the curiosity got to us, as we wondered what was going on up there.... so enjoy another ASAP Exclusive Podcast....this one with new strength and conditioning coach Mike Barwis, as we take an in depth look at the Michigan Football strength program.
