You won't find nicer college campus anywhere! Miami University, Oxford, Ohio 45056. It's Redhawk Country and home to "the Cradle of Coaches." Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, Ara Parseghian, Paul Brown, Weeb Eubank, Jim Tressel...the list goes on. They all coached football at Miami. Don Treadwell is the coach today, a former Miami wide receiver himself. He's got a heck of a coaching pedigree and was propelled to fame when he took over head coaching duties at Michigan State following a Mark Dantonio heart attack. Treadwell returned to his alma mater a year ago with hopes of winning the Mid American Conference championship soon.
Nestled between Millett Hall and Yager Stadium is the weight training complex, the Walter Gross & Family Athlete Development Center, and it is headed by Paul Harker, the Director of Strength & Conditioning. And that's who took a timeout between Redhawk training sessions to give me and former Redskin, Ken Hauck (Miami '76), an exceptional tour.
This facility was recently retooled with a complete line-up of Rogers Athletic Pendulum Strength Training Equipment. I definitely give this stuff a thumbs up. If this was Facebook, I would click the LIKE button for sure!
