Chris Henry, Cincinnati Bengals Training at The Workout at Covington

    Oie_dsc_0165_4

Dsc_0179_4 Being suspended by the NFL is never easy....nor is spending 5 weeks--- 6 days a week with ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power Program Director Ted Lambrinides. Yet, that's where the talented wide-out, Chris Henry, of the Cincinnati Bengals found himself: daily training sessions at The Workout @ Covington. The speedy receiver finished his last session on Saturday and rejoins Carson Palmer and the rest of his Bengals teammates on Monday in preparation for a game against the Dallas Cowboys. "I'm definitely ready to go." said a smiling Chris Henry who looked every bit of 6'4 and 200 pounds.
The workouts consisted of strength training exercises that were preceded by Dynamic Warm-ups, Flexibility Training, Strength and Power training.... and of course, shuttle runs.... lots of shuttle runs, gassers and Interval Training. Then there were the football specific drills and catching skill work, also.

    The Arroyo Update.... "Tightening Up"

Dsc_0030 He's one of the hottest pitchers in MLB right now.... Cincinnati Reds pitcher, Bronson Arroyo is 9-3 in his last 12 starts. Oh and by the way, he steals bases Pete Rose style with head-first slide technique and he can come up with a bases loaded double when needed, too. That's Reds Strength & Conditioning Coordinator Matt Krause supervising one of Arroyo's day-before-game "tightening program workouts" that took place at The Workout @ Covington...... keep up the great work guys!
Here's a link to our Youtube with Bronson and Matt Krause. And here's one that's more specific to the "tightening program".
In other news, some ASAP trainees who now play for the Ohio State Buckeyes, had good opening game performances at the giant horseshoe in Columbus (trainees not named due to NCAA regulations).

Oakland Raiders' Ricky Brown Continues ASAP Off Season Regimen/ Podcast

    Raiders_logo_6

If you'd like to spend a day in Ricky Brown's shoes...you'd better be in a hurry. He does things fast.... very fast.  Of course, keep in mind, this guy was a track and football star back at Cincinnati Elder High School and it was running times like these that got people to notice:

    • 11.1 in the 100 meter dash
    • 22."something" in the 200 meter
    • 50.6 in the 400m

Oie_brown_action1_2 With that kind of speed and football talent to match it, it was on to Boston College to excel as a starting linebacker with some good friends of his, Nick Larkin (Cincinnati St. X) and Tom Anevski (Elder).... all three, by the way, trained extensively at ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power. And after all the games and bowl appearances ended, it was on to the National Football League. In fact, he's embarking on his third season with the Oakland Raiders. So when he's back in his hometown, don't be surprised to see him working out at ASAP @ The River's Edge. The facilities there include strength training equipment, CORE Training devices, indoor Field Turf athletic fields and, of course the watchful eye of Coach Ted Lambrinides.
In today's podcast, Ricky talks about training camp in Napa Valley, his current workout regimen and some info on his nutrition program where "breakfast is the most important meal of my day". Just click on Ricky's game photo above for the 10 minute interview.
