ASAP Athletic Strength And Power has gone straight to the top. For this podcast we looked to the National Champions of college football, the University of Florida Gators for some of the "nuts and bolts" of program design and philosophy. The head strength and conditioning coach there is Mickey Marotti, who worked as a graduate assistant at Ohio State University in the late 80's, on to West Virginia for a couple of years as an assistant strength coach....then on to being a head strength coach at the University of Cincinnati and later, the University of Notre Dame, before landing in Gainesville, Florida to take the same role with the Florida Gators. Coach Marotti took a time out to share some of his insights into the strength training and conditioning of football players. Mickey is also on the ASAP Athletic Strength And Power Advisory Board
Coach Marotti will be hosting his 2nd Annual Gator Strength Clinic on March 2nd, 2007. ASAP Director, Ted Lambrinides will be one of the main speakers at this clinic in Gainesville. Also, look for Kurtis Shultz, strength coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be on hand! Here's a Gator Strength Clinic Registration Form
