...and this week, we head up to East Lansing, Michigan. We're talking strength training, conditioning and program design with Coach Ken Mannie. Coach Mannie has been at Michigan State University for 13 years and has put together a top quality training program at this Big Ten Institution. He's once again teamed with Head Football Coach Mark Dantonio....making for an interesting scene and could soon change the landscape of Big Ten football.
Coach Mannie took a few minutes to share with us the basics of his program and also some of his background and training philosophy. He's always willing to help those in the strength coaching profession....or the athlete in need of a training tip. Ken is also is a regularly featured columnist for Coach & Athletic Director magazine and well known for his intensity and fervor for training athletes. Coach Mannie is on the Advisory Board for ASAP Athletic Strength And Power. In the podcast, Mannie describes the training device known as the LogBar.... which they use at MSU for performing their front squats. Click here: LOGBAR for more information on that.
