If you'd like to spend a day in Ricky Brown's shoes...you'd better be in a hurry. He does things fast.... very fast. Of course, keep in mind, this guy was a track and football star back at Cincinnati Elder High School and it was running times like these that got people to notice:
- 11.1 in the 100 meter dash
- 22."something" in the 200 meter
- 50.6 in the 400m
With that kind of speed and football talent to match it, it was on to Boston College to excel as a starting linebacker with some good friends of his, Nick Larkin (Cincinnati St. X) and Tom Anevski (Elder).... all three, by the way, trained extensively at ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power. And after all the games and bowl appearances ended, it was on to the National Football League. In fact, he's embarking on his third season with the Oakland Raiders. So when he's back in his hometown, don't be surprised to see him working out at ASAP @ The River's Edge. The facilities there include strength training equipment, CORE Training devices, indoor Field Turf athletic fields and, of course the watchful eye of Coach Ted Lambrinides.
In today's podcast, Ricky talks about training camp in Napa Valley, his current workout regimen and some info on his nutrition program where "breakfast is the most important meal of my day". Just click on Ricky's game photo above for the 10 minute interview.
