ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power took to the air last week for a road trip that covered Tampa Bay, then Sarasota to see Matt Krause and Bronson Arroyo at the Cincinnati Reds' spring training headquarters....and then on to Gainesville, Florida to attend the 4th Annual University of Florida Strength Clinic. First things first, if you find yourself in Gainesville, be sure to check out Ballyhoo Grill for dinner and too relax. More importantly, start your day off right with breakfast at the 43rd Street Deli. French Toast, Sweet Potato Pancakes.... traditional eggs and sausage..... you won't leave hungry!
From there, it's on to the clinic. Of course, it was hosted by the University of Florida's Director of Strength & Conditioning, Mickey Marotti who joined us for an ASAP Podcast back in '07..... and his strength staff, who found a way to keep nearly 275 coaches and fitness professionals comfortable during their two days at the clinic. There was plenty of room for all in the 25,000 square feet training complex used by the Florida Gators football squad. The facility is an amazing complex housed in the depths of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium... known as "The Swamp" to Gator fans. And ASAP plans to take you behind the scenes this fall when the defending National Champions take to the field for 2009.
Take a look at our exclusive ASAP Performance Video and hear direct from Coach Marotti and get a look inside the Gator training center. Consider this video a "part One", as we'll have more later.
Coach Mickey Marotti shows off his 25,000 square foot weight training complex to ASAP Program Director Ted Lambrinides. Professional colleagues for over 25 years!
