...Just returned from a trip to East Lansing, Michigan...the home of the Michigan State Spartans. First, there was the accommodations at The Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center. This is the only place to stay if your headed up to Spartan Country. The "Kellogg Center" is located right on the campus of MSU. Located just a long touchdown pass from Spartan Stadium, this hotel has everything you need to get totally comfortable. Especially after a long day at the Duffy Daugherty Football Building...where the Spartans train. Just click on the Kellogg Center photo (below) to link to best accommodations in East Lansing!
I wanted to check in and see what strength coach Ken Mannie was up to. Business as Usual!!! Also, Coach Mannie, much like like Woody Hayes...teaches word power! And today's word was ....relentless. And relentless he was. Coach Mannie was in full form as he instructed, coached, encouraged and trained his MSU Football squad. Lots of shoulder pressing, chain bench pressing, TRX suspension stuff, and trapezius & latissimus work going on. In the afternoon, a conditioning "quiz" of 20 half gassers was on the docket. All in preparation for next week's real version of the test. And, a workout wouldn't be complete in East Lansing without some variation of some neck work. Take a look at today's ASAP Sports Performance Training Video with Ken Mannie! It's on neck training. ASAP will provide more training video from MSU later...
