ASAP colleagues Dave Lawson (Director of Football Strength & Conditioning) and Mike Szerszen (Associate Strength Coach) are settling in down in Knoxville, Tennessee. In fact, they are ready to have their first Strength Clinic.
Lawson and Szerszen are all part of the big change that took place in Tennessee Volunteer Country during the college football off-season. Both coaches came south with newly selected Head Football Coach, Butch Jones. The new football coach made sure to bring along Dave Lawson to oversee the Vols' strength training routines, as they try to make Tennessee Football relevant, once again. The expectations are high in Knoxville, where their Volunteers have not claimed a National Championship since 1998. Fans pour into Neyland Stadium...over 102,455 fans! And they're hungry for an SEC Crown!
Coach Lawson and staff chiseled out some impressive players with their demanding and challenging workouts during their tenure at The University of Cincinnati. But now, the bar has been raised and every week's game can present a formidable opponent. Like next season, the Vols will be heading to Eugene, Oregon for a game against the Ducks.... then they'll head back to SEC Country for the typical match-ups of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and, of course, Alabama! Throw in a few more SEC games on top of those!
So, now's your chance to get in at the ground level and learn about this exciting and rigorous training program that will no doubt have the Vols ready to go toe-to-toe with anyone in 2013.
