While making my way around the huge, sprawling metropolis of Philadelphia, I was finally able to drive into one of the finer suburbs that you'll see anywhere in the USA... known as Bryn Mawr. It's a centerpiece of what's known as the Main Line. It's all good!
In fact, it's in this area of Philly where you'll find some of the most interesting, and expensive, revolutionary strength training machines called X-Force. Roger Schwab, the founder of Main Line Health & Fitness has been in business there since he opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1976. Today, his training center maintains 35,000 square feet and is home of 120 pieces of vintage Nautilus, Med-X and Hammer Strength strength machines. There's also a full compliment of all of the popular cadio training equipment. In addition, they have a nutrition and smoothie bar!
But, it was in January 2012 when Schwab decided to add the X-Force "Negative Training" Equipment to his training center.
Equipment that puts the emphasis on the eccentric phase of the repetition. Exercise physiologists have determined that a person can handle 40% more weight on the negative phase of the "rep"....thus, trainees who focus their workouts on this aspect are set to reap some great gains! And it was with the addition of this advanced training system that has incredibly increased.... that is tripled, the personal training segment of his facility in Bryn Mawr.
