Starting officially in September 2015, East Tennessee State University will once again be fielding a football team after a discontinuance of the program in 2003. They have a schedule, a new stadium and and an off-season strength and conditioning program that's going full steam ahead. In fact, our long time colleague Al Johnson is is the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the ETSU Buccaneers down in .....of all places.... Johnson City, Tennessee!
So the Bucs have a well experienced coach directing their training regimen as Coach Johnson has a resume' that basically speaks for itself. He's well connected, networked and well known throughout the strength training community having worked with several big time programs that include the Baltimore Orioles and of course his tenure at Ohio State that culminated in a 2002 BCS National Championship with the Buckeyes.
Now, Johnson and ETSU will be hosting a strength and conditioning clinic to be held on May 2nd 2015. The speaker list includes Coach Johnson, Heather Mason and current Tennessee Vols' Head Strength Coach Dave Lawson and his assistant coach Mike Szerszen.
