The Ohio State Buckeyes' Ass't A.D. for Football Sports Performance, Mickey Marotti.....known around the Woody Hayes Athletic Center as "Coach Mick"... is preparing to hand over the "keys", both figuratively and literally, of the OSU Buckeye Machine to his head Coach Urban Meyer The Buckeyes check in to fall camp on Sunday as the off-season grind comes to a halt and the equipment managers start issuing shoulder pads, helmets and the rest of the gear to protect the players. The team is ranked 5th in the coaches preseason poll, so you'd think that they have a ton of players returning. However, there are only a handful of starters that will take the field against the Bowling Green State Falcons on September 3rd over in the giant horseshoe Ohio Stadium.
Pre-season respect like that is a tribute to great recruiting and great preparation. Ohio State brings in some great players, but that's only part of the equation when you're making runs at national championships. Preparation is also a huge piece of the pie and Coach Marotti has the experience to help guide these elite athletes to a higher level.
