I have a new go-to post workout snack! And, I figure if it's one on the faves of the Auburn Tiger Football squad.... count me in. During a recent meeting with Tigers' Head Strength Coach Ryan Russell, we observed an impressive strength training session followed by an intense conditioning workout in the relatively new indoor practice facility. Leave no doubt, the Auburn Tigers are looking very fit.... and very big. They have a few guys that have an NFL look! Coach Russell and his staff have been doing a great job in preparation for the upcoming 2017 season.
Having a team nutritionist centered right inside the training facility is paying dividends for Auburn. And Lauren Silvio is doing quite an impressive job. By accident, I stumbled upon her and her staff producing a batch of Peanut Butter Protein Bars/nuggets. Anyway, the bottom line is that they happen to be a player favorite. Once I heard that, I moved along with a recipe request! Here it is:
Auburn Tiger Peanut Butter Protein Bites
Add the ingredients to a bowl. Mix the batch until completely combined. Cut or roll into bite size chunks
1 Scoop of Whey Protein ( I used a packet of BiPro Chocolate Whey Protein Isolate)
2 cups of oat flour ( You can use rolled oats cycled through a blender until it's flour-like)
1 1/2 cups of Peanut Butter
1/4 cup of honey
Chocolate chips to taste
