Gameday is huge in college football. It usually only occurs twelve or thirteen times a year. So it's critical that the players be prepared for action. Muscles need to be warmed up, the joints and tendons have to be adequately prepped for the cutting, the hits, and the wear and tear of the game.
ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power got access to the #6 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes as Coaches Rick Court and Anthony Schlegel got the team ready. Check out the video below.
Cincinnati Reds Strength & Conditioning Coach Matt Krause hosted his first strength and conditioning clinic last week... many very good speakers on hand. That list included Bronson Arroyo, Chip Morton (Bengals), Billy Hatcher, Michele Macedonio (Nutritionist) and Dr. Timothy Kremchek, the team orthopedic physician of the Cincinnati Reds. That gave us the opportunity to talk about the rotator cuff, etc. for this ASAP Athletic Strength And Power Podcast. Just click on the ASAP Logo to hear and/or download this exclusive interview. Or, the gray podcast player below. There is also the Youtube version, too. For further information, Dr. Kremchek would be more that happy to take emails at: Kremchek@aol.com
When your football schedule includes the Florida Gators, the LSU Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks.... and in successive weeks, there's no time to be wasted on kickin' back and enjoying the summer. Like most major college programs, Ray "Rock" Oliver and Ted Lambrinides have a countdown clock in their Kentucky Wildcat Strength Training complex at the E.J. Nutter Training Facility. But time seems to tick a little faster in this part of Lexington, where Kentucky Wildcat players and staff prepare for the rigors of another Southeastern Conference (SEC) football season. ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power headed down I-75 South and found out what was going on in the weight room and out on the practice fields. As you'll see in the exclusive, behind the scenes footage, there's some serious work being done.... including a new flair this summer with the "Thursday Night Lights" conditioning program.... a definite high energy, highly charged effort of agility stations, quickness drills and Ram Sleds being pushed and pulled up and down the fields at breakneck speeds.
Now you'll have time to sit back and check out some of the high definition ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power Sports Performance and Training Videos. Strength Training segments filmed on location at: The University of Cincinnati, The University of Florida, The Ohio State University, Michigan State University.... the Cincinnati Reds. The list goes on. ASAP will be getting more as we soon venture out to the Rose Bowl.
We at ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power, extend our condolences to the family, friends, and teammates of Chris Henry. A popular trainee at The Workout at Covington, Chris always took time to talk to athletes in training, parents and supporters at The Workout. Occasionally, you could see Chris signing an autograph or two for some neighborhood kids near our training facility in Covington. We'll remember him, especially in his comeback as he strived to return to one of the things that he loved the most.... NFL football.
